Blue Beetle never asked for this. He was a simple car, his owner took care of him and his mechanic made sure he was roadworthy, he was perfectly happy with driving away from monsters, ramming into monsters, and occasionally being driven by monsters. It’s…actually pretty fun! Doesn’t really re-invent the wheel or anything, the superhero side of the story is fairly standard-ish, but its real strength is in the dynamic between Jaime and the rest of the Reyes family. Only quibbles with story are minor “could’ve expanded a bit more on this” type stuff, but overall it’s a pretty solid 7/10. Nice to have a DC movie that *doesn’t* suck for a change.

I got a chance to watch Blue Beetle that got my boy, Miguel Diaz playing the Blue Beetle and I got to say... I really have a great time watching Blue Beetle.

To those who wanted a Latino-starring superhero movie, this movie is for you cause they handle the Latino element really well, especially Jaime's interaction with his family.
